After noticing and naming the emotions in your body, take a moment to reflect: What surprised you? What emotions felt familiar, and which ones felt new or hidden? Did anything shift as you gave your feelings space to be seen and felt? What would you like to say to the part of you that needed attention today?

Emotional Mapping: Reflection & Integration Prompt

After you’ve completed your emotional mapping — noticing where emotions are held in the body and identifying what they might be — take a few quiet moments to journal your experience.

Begin with these gentle questions:

  • What did I notice in my body that I might have overlooked before?

  • Were there any emotions that surprised me, or felt difficult to name?

  • How did my body respond once I gave those feelings my attention?

Go deeper by exploring:

  • Did any memories or thoughts come up during the mapping?

  • Is there a message my body or emotion might be trying to share with me?

  • If I were to give this emotion a voice, what would it say?

Now, invite compassion:

  • What would I say to myself right now if I were my own best friend?

  • What does my body or heart need from me in this moment — rest, movement, breath, or softness?

Closing prompt:

  • How can I honor what I’ve discovered today — even in a small, simple way?

This type of self-reflection not only builds emotional literacy, but also strengthens trust between your mind and body.
